Workshops

​Come make something with us! There's a workshop for everyone - whether you are looking for a fun beginner activity do with your friends and family or looking to develop your skills in one of our hands-on workshops. We offer one-day workshops (1-3 hrs) for a variety of skill levels, ages, and techniques. In addition to your class, registration fees include clay, glazes and firings. Cleanup not included - feel free to help us out! Your finished product is available for pick-up approximately 3 weeks later.

Family Workshop - FAIRY/ GNOME GARDEN                                                Mon Oct. 12         1:30 - 3:30 pm
Create memories and pottery together!   Learn handbuilding techniques together while making beautiful pottery pieces. Completed work will be fired and glazed by the instructor, ready for pick up three weeks after your workshop. These workshops is suitable for any age; however, children 9 and younger may need a little assistance with the actual construction. 

​​In this fun and creative workshop, participants will work together to create a shallow structure which will serve as a decorative “garden” , suitable for either indoor or outdoor use. The remainder of the workshop will be used to create the pieces to go into this garden: small fairy houses, gnomes or fairies, toadstools, snails, frogs, etc. Bring your imagination and a sense of magic get ready to create “small”. One Adult and Child: $65 + tax; One Adult and 2 Children: $95 + tax

​Work together to create adorable birdhouses, suitable as garden or house decor. Participants will be able to choose between creating smaller, individual birdhouses, or one larger one (this option being more suitable for young children).

Each person gets to keep a pot, which will be later fired and glazed to your liking. ​Materials included. All skill levels.

Handbuild your own drinking vessel! Whether it's a stein, mug, goblet, highball or horn - your handbuilt vessel will elevate your drink at any time of the day, because after all...it's 5 o'clock somewhere. Materials included. All skill levels​.

IT'S 5 O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE...     FULL                                                                  SAT NOV. 21        6:30 - 8:00 PM

Taste of clay - Knitting Bowls                                                                         Sat Oct. 3          6:30 - 8:30 PM  
​This workshop is a great introduction to the wonderful world of clay. Using clay, learn how to hand-build a beautiful yarn bowl from a talented artist. Days of rolling, tangled, dust-collecting balls of yarn will be a thing of the past. Materials included. Skill level: All levels.

 Come join us for a new tradition of making your own ornaments, either for gifts or for some special memories for your own holiday celebrations. Children must be accompanied by an adult. In this workshop we will make, shape and paint a variety of white crackle clay holiday shapes that will be fired in time for the season.

DROP-IN Days                                                         2nd SUNDay / month           2:00 - 3:00 PM, 3:00 - 4:00 PM
Join us on the second Sunday of the month and try out the pottery wheel!

1 hour sessions are from 2:00 - 3:00 pm or 3:00 - 4:00 pm. Available on a first come basis, no prior registration. Please arrive at the LCAC Store 5-10 minutes before the session is to start. Maximum of 9 participants per session. As this is a drop-in, no work will be fired or taken home.

Appropriate for ages 6+ and children under 16 must have parent/guardian supervision

$10 an hour (includes HST)
