SOFT SLABS AND PINCHED SCULPTURES
Picture
Date:  December 2
Time: 10:00am-4:00pm
Cost: $60.00+ hst = $67.80
Instructor: Jordan Scott
Maximum: 12 Participants
In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the sculptural side of ceramics using soft slabs and pinched vessels. Students will begin the workshop by doing a small series of very quick 1-minute sketches (you don’t need to know how to or be good at drawing) as a way of generating new ideas. We will then explore various handbuilding techniques that can be appropriated into the final project. This workshop is designed to challenge participants into pushing themselves into new and untapped ideas.
Participants are required to bring own (1/2 sleeve) clay and tools. Bring your own brown bag lunch.

PUSHING THE CREATIVE PROCESS ON THE POTTER'S WHEEL
Date: December 9
Time: 10:00am-4:00pm
Cost: $60.00+ hst = $67.80
Instructor: Jordan Scott
Maximum: 12 Participants
Participants will be working with the wheel in a way that encourages idea development through exploration and “play”. Students will throw vessels inverted, rip, tear, stretch and force the plastic material in ways that discourage the quintessential way of making. Instructor and artist, Jordan Scott will demonstrate the fundamentals of troubleshooting to show how to plan for the end result of a form. The three fundamental forms perused are: Cups, Plates and Vases. Participants are required to bring their own (full sleeve) clay and tools. Bring a brown bag lunch.
Fees

Refund Policy: To withdraw from a course, you must notify the Program Administrator or internal workshop coordinator at least two weeks before the course start date for a complete refund. Within two weeks of the course start date (and before the first class) 50% of the fee will be refunded.
