From the beginning, we built accessibility features into London Clay Art Centre because we recognize that 1 in 7 Canadian adults has a disability; the number is expected to grow to 1 in 5 by 2036. LCAC includes accessibility features such as:

Removing additional physical barriers
In 2017, we were awarded funds from the Rick Hansen Foundation through its Barrier Buster infrastructure improvement program. With the funds we were able to remove additional physical barriers in our facility, by purchasing:
For people with hearing or visual impairments, or who are deaf we have:
- a wheelchair accessible potter’s wheel
- automatic opener on the large interior fire doors
- sound absorbing acoustic panels for people with hearing impairments that reduce background noise and improve speech intelligibility
For people with hearing or visual impairments, or who are deaf we have:
- augmented sound equipment
- technology that allows real-time speech-to-text captioning
